Even with the unstable economy, flea markets are seeing a rise in numbers. Happy's flea market in Roanoke saw a rise in vendors from 90 a day last summer to 120 average a day this summer.
People are deciding to sell at flea markets for a variety of reasons. Whether they are laid off from work because of jobs being shipped overseas or whether gas prices are taking their toll, people are taking the opportunity to use flea markets as an advantage to get extra cash.
